Zuiunzan-Honkouji (瑞雲山本光寺) is the temple of the Soutou sect (曹洞宗) that is situated at Nagasaki prefecture Shimabara city (長崎県島原市). This temple is famous temple (名刹), and it was Fukouzu-Mathudaira's family's temple (深溝松平家菩提寺). Fukouzu-Mathudaira's family was feudal lord that possessed Shimabara area in the time of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The enormous historical materials that is related to this family are owned by this temple. This monograph is founded on the investigation that this writer examined the historical materials at this temple in 2003. Mr. katayama hirokata (片山弘賢氏) is the priest of this temple (瑞雲山本光寺副住職), and the curator of Tokiwa historical museum (常磐歴史資料館館長). I would like to thank especially his sufficient care when examined the historical materials at this temple. |
