The aim of this paper is to explore how we can interpret the subjects employed in Tennessee Williams's Kingdom of Earth (1968). First, we will observe the racial representation of Chicken (the only black character in williams's plays) and examine the paradoxical situation in which his function as a black makes the will to reverse the social hierarchy possible but the representation of his sexuality makes the reversal ambiguous. Second, we will suppose that the play has an aspect of meta-psychology, analyzing the three characters by comparing them with the psychological theory. Last, we will consider the image of "Freak Show" that the author put in the play and inverstigate how the subjects we have discussed in the other sections will affect the relationship between the audience and the play as a Freak Show.
